  • The Calling

The rise of Christ Glory International Ministries begins with our Bishop Adedeji, who started as an elder for Agbala Daniel Church in Ibadan, Nigeria. In 1988 God gave him a vision to gather people together to worship Him. Being encouraged by the voice of God, he obeyed the Spirit of God and began gathering with others every week in his one-bedroom apartment. The apartment located at 659 Chancellor Ave quickly became the address many knew as their place of weekly fellowship.

A year later, the ‘small body of Christ’ was ready to celebrate its first anniversary. Needless to say, the one-bedroom apartment was not a suitable place for such, that being so, they rented a small church nearby for the anniversary. By 1993, the church population outgrew the building they were renting and it was evident that the Lord was calling them to move to a bigger space. Bishop Adedeji now leads a multicultural spirit filled congregation surrounded by Christ centered individuals.

  • Beginning of Christ Glory

What once started as a worship service attended by only a handful of people, grew into a congregation in need of its own permanent place of worship. As gatherings continued, they waited on the Lord, through fasting and prayer. 7 years later, on September 4, 2000, we dedicated 1108 Grove Street, Irvington, NJ as our own church building! The ministry was re-birthed into an international focused spiritual organization called Christ Glory International Ministries, commonly called CGIM, and God has remained faithful since then. Today, we continue to abide by the vision that God has given us, and we are hopeful for the greater heights He will lead us to.

Our Pastors

  • Senior Pastor Edward Sokoya

  • Senior Pastor Yemi Adedeji

  • Pastor Shola Adedeji

  • Pastor Isaac Ayansola

  • Pastor Sunny Nwachukwu

  • Pastor Israel Adebayo

  • In Honor of Our Late Pastor

Our beloved Pastor Israel Adebayo was called to glory on October 1, 2021. Pastor Israel served the Lord diligently with everything in him. He dedicated his life to preaching the gospel and winning souls for Christ. He was instrumental in the upbringing of many young souls and taught the way of the Lord. As a muslim convert, learning how God loved us all so much, that He gave Jesus Christ to die for us, encouraged Pastor Israel to draw people, young and old alike, to like their lives for Christ. He believed in the power of fervent prayer, as stated in James 5:16 “the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much”, and his life reflected this.

Pastor Israel spoke and taught the Word of God as it was given to him, and was often called the “no-nonsense Pastor”. Although strict and disciplined, he was a very lively, joyful person, whose contagious smile filled any room he walked in. His hard work ethic, humility and “ever ready” mentality has graced us all in Christ Glory. A true soldier of Christ.

We will greatly miss his presence, efforts, wise words and stern lessons. His legacy will continue to live on in our hearts, as we aspire to live what he has taught us, by the grace of God. We remember his family and loved ones in our daily prayers.

Although we may not understand, we know that it is all for the glory of God, as mentioned in his last message. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Until we all shall meet again in paradise.
